Medication Management

When symptoms won’t let up, or therapy progress stalls, medication can be a helpful part of care. At Mason Family Counseling, our psychiatric providers offer medication management that fits your goals and works hand-in-hand with therapy. We explain options in plain language, monitor benefits and side effects, and adjust carefully so you feel steadier day to day. Appointments are available in person in Mason and via secure telehealth across Ohio. Most insurance accepted; we verify benefits up front.

Thoughtful medication, tailored to you.

Signs You May Need Help

How We Approach Medication At Mason Family Counseling

Your plan is collaborative and paced to comfort. We start with a thorough evaluation of your history, current symptoms, past medications, sleep, stress, medical factors, and goals. From there we discuss evidence-based options (e.g., antidepressants, anti-anxiety or augmentation strategies when appropriate), including expected timelines, common side effects, and how we’ll measure progress.
We keep doses conservative at first and adjust gradually, pairing meds with practical skills you’re learning in therapy. When needed, we order labs or coordinate with your primary-care provider or therapist so care stays aligned. If a medication isn’t a fit, we’ll revise the plan promptly. When your symptoms are stable, we consider whether tapering is appropriate. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and other health considerations are always factored into shared decision-making.

What Medication Visits Look Like

Most clients begin with an initial evaluation to map history and set goals, followed by regular follow-ups to monitor benefits, side effects, sleep, and daily functioning. Early on, visits are more frequent; as things stabilize, we space them out. Refills are managed during follow-ups to keep your plan safe and current. We e-prescribe to your preferred pharmacy, and when it’s clinically appropriate and allowed by your insurer, telehealth visits can be used for ongoing care. If medication alone isn’t enough—or isn’t indicated—we’ll recommend therapy adjustments or coordinate referrals to the right level of care.
