Bio
Sara Johnson, LISW-S, is a Licensed Independent Social Worker and Clinical Director at Mason Family Counseling. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Ohio University and has experience working with individuals and families across many settings, including psychiatric hospitals, outpatient and school-based counseling, and hospice grief support.
Sara works with children, teens, and adults who may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, grief, behavioral challenges, or family stress. She uses evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness, always adapting her work to fit each person’s unique needs, strengths, and goals.
Above all, Sara believes in creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. She meets people where they are and partners with them to build practical skills, find hope, and move toward meaningful growth and healing—at a pace that feels right for them.
