    Sara Johnson, LISW-S, LCSW

    Sara is a Licensed Independent Social Worker and Clinical Director for Mason Family Counseling, who obtained her Master’s from Ohio University. She also obtained her Bachelor’s of Social Work at Ohio University as well. Sara has a background working with adults in a hospital psychiatric setting, working with children and parents in an outpatient setting as well as a school based setting, and assisting families with grief therapy in a Hospice setting.

    Sara utilizes different techniques from parent-child interactive therapy, client-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solutions-focused approach, and mindfulness techniques to meet the needs of the individual or family. Sara has experience working with clients who experience behavioral issues, depression, anxiety, complicated grief, and family issues. 

    Sara understands that each client, family, and couple is going through their own unique difficulties and works to meet them “where they are” to address their concerns/issues. Sara focuses on finding solutions and providing techniques to assist each client with meeting their goals. She feels that being empathetic, accepting, and non judgmental is essential to ensure each client feels comfortable in the therapeutic relationship/process.
